The MSU Genesee County Alumni Association is dedicated to the idea of supporting deserving area high school graduates planning to attend MSU in the fall, who have demonstrated their leadership as conscientious citizens, hardworking scholars and determined athletes.  Each year, using money raised at events like this one, the club has awarded scholarships to a number of students nominated by the administrative and teaching staffs of their respective high schools.  Every year it becomes harder and harder to choose among the outstanding individuals nominated for the award and for that, the administrators, teachers and parents of these graduates are to be congratulated by us all. This year was no different, with 24 candidates submitted from 10 area high schools resulting in 5 finalists, all of whom will receive an award of $1500 to be used toward their expenses as incoming freshman at Michigan State University.  Congratulations and our best wishes to every student nominated for this award.  You have all exhibited the qualities that will ensure your future successes.  We are proud of you all and welcome you enthusiastically into the Spartan community.  Good luck!
